Super Smash Bros. for Wii U Becomes a Horror Game with New Glitch

With games like Outlast, P.T., and Five Nights at Freddy’s gaining steam among the community, Nintendo decided to include something special in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U to appeal to fans of more horrifying fare.

Okay, not really, but that wouldn’t be a surprising conclusion to come to after seeing the effects of a newly-discovered glitch.

Yesterday afternoon, a Miiverse user by the name of Guuppp began uploading images of a bug that affected the characters in his copy of Super Smash Bros. in an interesting and rather creepy way. The glitch causes models to become flattened in some areas and stretched in others, creating some very disturbing new looks for iconic Nintendo characters like Yoshi, Mario, Luigi, and more.

A video has also surfaced that shows this model-warping in action.

No details have been confirmed as of yet regarding how this glitch occurred, but Guuppp has mentioned that it came about naturally without any sort of game modificaton.

Have you encountered something like this during your time with Super Smash Bros. for Wii U? Let us know in the comments.
