Divine Justice, Time-Skips and a Destroyer’s wrath: All of the anime, manga and Xenoverse 2 references for Goku Black, Hit and Beerus in Dragon Ball FighterZ

With the recent reveals of the Dragon Ball Super trio of Goku Black, Hit and Beerus in Dragon Ball FighterZ, IKevinX has recently released reference videos for the new warriors.

First up is Goku Black, the current form of Present Zamasu, the Supreme Kai Apprentice of Universe 10, who used the Super Dragon Balls to switch bodies with Goku, before beginning the “Zero Mortals Plan” with Future Zamasu. Battling exclusively in his Super Saiyan Rose form, Black’s references are pulled solely from the anime and his Xenoverse 2 incarnation, forgoing his Super manga appearance entirely.

Naturally drawing on all of his anime battles, we see Black’s barbaric fighting style on full display, with his Launcher and Medium Auto Combos coming straight from XV2, while his Instant Transmission, God Slicer and Black Kamehameha, as well as the Fierce God Kick (which IKevinX affectionately dubs the “Savage Kick,”) are all accounted for with the usual stunning accuracy. Not to be left out, Black also has some tandem offense with Future Zamasu, such as the Binding Black Kamehameha, where he forced Goku and Future Trunks to eat the charged beam by grabbing them from behind, surviving the impact due to his immortal body. The God Slicer Dance, Holy Light Grenade and even his ultimate attack, the reality-destroying Work Of The Gods, is seen as his Level 3.

In contrast, both Hit and Beerus utilize references from the manga, with the Universe 6 assassin’s battles with Super Saiyan Blue Goku, Vegeta and Frost, as well as his recent encounter with the Pride Troopers during the on-going Tournament Of Power being drawn upon for inspiration. His Time-Skip abilities, such as Jump Spike, Tremor Pulse, Flash Skewer, Back Breaker, and Time Freeze have manifested as Counters, with his Phantom Fist serving as a dodge of sorts. Time Skip/Molotov also serves as his Level 3.

Universe 7’s God of Destruction, Beerus, rounds out this lineup, primarily drawing on his fights with Goku, Vegeta and Buu, in both Dragon Ball Super and Battle Of Gods.  Utilizing his Cataclysmic Orbs, Sneeze Blasts, the Palm Energy Infusion Explosion, God of Destruction’s Wrath, the Beerus Ball and — of course– Hakai, the Destroyer has a fittingly powerful move set.

Dragon Ball FighterZ will be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in North America and Europe on January 26th, 2018. A Japanese release will follow on the same platforms February 1st. An open beta test will be held on January 14th-15, with digital pre-orders getting in on the 13th.
