Welcome to the Rollback: a frame-by-frame look back at our past week’s most notable news — and our favorite SRK articles — from July 13 to July 19, 2018!
Zavian “mushin_Z” Sildra, Editor-in-Chief:
Frame 1:
Dragon Ball FighterZ getting base form Goku and Vegeta, Switch open beta in early August
Expected-in-advance (thanks to leaks) but still controversial DLC fighter additions for a game that already has multiple forms of Goku and Vegeta. Especially Goku.
Frame 2:
“Footsies” fighting mini-game is now available for Android
Now, if we can get an iOS version, no one will have any excuse to not learn how to play a real neutral game.
WNF has expanded, so make sure you check out all the action from the many games they featured!
Frame 4:
Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike tutorial — Ken bread-and-butter combo guide & general notes
Bafael continues his guide to 3rd Strike, now delving into whom might be the most popular character in the game (that isn’t Chun-Li)!
The fan-service in this game is so blatant and over-the-top that it somehow trancends crassness and becomes sublime.
Crow_Spaceboy, Assistant Editor:
Frame 1:
Ryu morphs into a Power Ranger in new reveal for Power Rangers: Legacy Wars
Look me in the eyes and tell me that I’m wrong: Power Rangers is the perfect IP for a new console fighter.
Frame 2:
A Japanese player modded a Mikado arcade cabinet to use console pads
Coincidentally, if you happen to live in the Austin, TX area, Arcade UFO also has controller ports on its cabs!
Frame 3:
Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[st] is coming to Steam on August 20th, 2018
Honestly, everyone should give this game a try. It’s one of the best-made fighters I have played in a while.
Frame 4:
NEO GEO World Tour 2018 shares SNK highlights from Kuwait Battle Royale
I deeply wish the NEO GEO World Tour had been advertised better, because this is a project of love I suspect a lot of people would be into had they known about it.
Frame 5:
Japanese Tekken 7: Fated Retribution major MASTERCUP 10 returning on October 20th, 2018
So, here’s what I’m watching on October 20th.
Catch up on what you may have missed in our prior SRK Rollback compilations.
