ARK: Survival Evolved won’t be receiving any new content with next week’s update, but at least one major feature will make a return. The decay timer is the system that sees player-created structures deteriorate over time. It was disabled about a month ago after a character-deleting bug cropped up. Disabling the decay system has allowed customer support “to successfully reunite players with their tribes, bases, and tamed creatures”.
You know Easter’s coming when everything has “egg” in it somewhere. Case in point is the Eggcellent Adventure awaiting players in ARK: Survival Evolved where players can go on a hunt for Easter Eggs scattered around all of the game maps. The eggs are collected from Bunny Dodos and can be used to craft several cosmetic items including Bunny Ears Skin, Procoptodon Bunny Costume, Egg Shell Hat, Chick Hat, the Marshmallow Dodo Hat and the Chocolate Bunny Club.
ARK: Survival Evolved players will be enjoying lots of holiday cheer thanks to the arrival of Winter Wonderland that begins later today. Both Raptor Claus and Gacha Claus will be tooling around the maps air-dropping gifts and goodies…and even coal….on players throughout. Gacha Claus will be collecting coal from naughty survivors in exchange for holiday-themed items. Or players can turn in mistletoe for weapons and armor.
Get ready to take dino-hunting survival action on the go now that ARK: Survival Evolved has been released for Nintendo Switch. Studio Wildcard has announced that it is preparing to launch special PvP “Conquest” servers. Up to 100 players will be able to take part and tribes will be “maxed out” at 25 Survivors. Players will also find some good reasons to play on Conquest servers with their 2X rates of taming, gathering, and experience. The Conquest Servers will be ready to go on Steam starting Friday, September 28th and at a later date for XBox One and PlayStation 4.
Modding types will be interested to hear that a new contest has been announced for ARK: Survival Evolved. This is the third modding contest sponsored by Studio Wildcard, this time with a Grand Prize of $15,000. Modders can submit their work which will be assessed by developers (70% of the final score) and, later, sent to a public vote (30% of the score).
