Even more dastardly deliveries have arrived into the High Seas, as Sea of Thieves’s Season 17 is live with a new pirate faction, new missions and more.

This month, Sea of Thieves will launch Season 17, Smugglers’ Tide, offer some bonuses, and celebrate Rare’s 40th anniversary with some gifts.

In first Sea of Thieves Direct, the devs revealed new Season structure, focus on narrative and sandbox, goals, and custom servers.

Sea of Thieves recently began Season 16 with a continued staggered content release schedule, but yesterday, the Xbox Games Showcase revealed Season 17, which is set to release in August.

Sea of Thieves Season 16 is here, and with it, Captain Flameheart’s return as he leads and expands The Reaper’s Bones, new Voyage, new weapon, and much more.

Coming later this month, Sea of Thieves Season 16 is offering a new bot crew, as well as a heavy-hitting new weapon.

Later this month, Sea of Thieves will officially set sail on Battle.net later this month, but first, a closed beta test starts today. Rare also rolls back an aggressive Kraken (for now).

Sea of Thieves has completely changed how the team handles those who break the game’s rules, moving from a three- strikes permanent ban policy to a new system that offers room to learn from mistakes or a bad day.
