Like many things in Nintendo’s experimental Switch fighter, ARMS has its own way of doing things.
Throws function the way they do in other fighting games: they offer a means to defeat the guard of a defensive opponent. How you beat throws, however, is where ARMS breaks with tradition: Instead of “breaking” the throw, you punch the opponent’s arm out of the air. This often allows you to get a free punish, especially if they attempted an air grab.
NEV also shows off some examples throw conversions- always pay attention to your environment, and you can turn throws into free rush combos!
