While the execution barrier of Arc System Works’ BlazBlue series was lowered significantly upon the release of their high-octane title BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle, that doesn’t mean that the layers of depth have gone away. The tag system has certainly provided a large amount of complexity, due to the myriad ways to utilize it in battle.
Active Change has been one mechanic that has been daunting to new players of the title, with it not only being useful to add a layer of mind games to assist calls, but also to extend combos by switching characters, allowing for your team’s synergy to truly shine. This short video guide from Zankoku shows exactly how to gradually incorporate the mechanic into your gameplay.
For those who still feel like applying Active Change is daunting, try to break it down into parts. FIRST find the opportunity for the assist call, THEN look at possibilities from there. You can use it for conversions, or an additional mixup layer, or even for extra safety. pic.twitter.com/eIc2HHKSIm
