Tekken 7‘s Paul Phoenix has undeniably solid fundamental tools that work at every level of play. Beyond his strong, simple tools and belligerent coin-flips, though, he has surprising gimmicks on okizeme that can melt the life-bars of opponents that didn’t understand the situation they were in.
If you know your opponent likes to tech early, or if they like to tech at the wall, Paul gets to work some frightening back-turned damage or instant 50/50’s. Considering the damage output Paul traditionally has, you only need these to work once or twice to get them to get inside your opponents head.
