Just Defends? Stance Properties? LI Joe Breaks Down Street Fighter V’s First Live Match

Street Fighter V’s first match ever this weekend between Capcom’s Peter “Combofiend” Rosas and Twitch’s Mike Ross left us with just enough gameplay to start to see just how different the game is from its predecessor. For those who’d like to hear another competitive player’s impressions of the game, Joe “LI Joe” Ciaramelli has provide an in-depth analysis of the specific mechanics he noticed.

Joe’s breakdown covers a few things that some folks might have missed, including small details like the change in the angle of  Ryu’s air Tatsumaki, the massive hitstun doled out by counter-hits (something that Joe predicts will really be important in the game), the multi-hit property on some of Ryu’s Hadoukens, and the unique blocking mechanic that seems similar to the Just Defend technique seen in Capcom vs. SNK 2 and Garou: Mark of the Wolves.

Check out the video below and see if he’s covered anything else that you may have missed.
