Elena’s Ultra Street Fighter IV iteration isn’t exactly the most intuitive character to just pick up and play. Even veterans of the genre may scratch their heads at how floaty and awkward her jump feels, how unusual some of her buttons are, and how incredibly high her execution ceiling can be. That said, she does make up for some of these negatives with an incredibly long 3-frame jab, a hurtbox that can be difficult to land a hit on, and one of the most unique Ultra combos in the game.
Knowing when to use these tools can be just as difficult as learning how to properly angle her jump-ins, but luckily Bafael has taken the time to break this character down in the same fashion that he’s done with five other members of the cast. In this lengthy tutorial (which he refers to as his magnum opus), Bafael covers everything you’ll need to know to make this sometimes whacky tool kit work for you: mid-combo healing, trade Ultras, kara throws, and pretty much anything else you could want to know.
