Beefy Smash Doods Break Down Westballz’ Super Smash Bros. Melee Input Speed

Anyone who has played a fighting game knows that there are periods in which the amount of inputs being sent from the player to the game climb to incredible levels. In some titles, this number is more pronounced than others; typically speaking, the faster the game, the more inputs required to succeed.

With this in mind, it only makes sense that a game as quick as Super Smash Bros. Melee would see top players pumping out hundreds of inputs per minute. In a recent video, the Beefy Smash Doods team analyzed footage of Tempo Storm’s Westballz throwing down in some high-stakes matches to see just how fast his fingers go when controlling Falco.

While their final numbers likely run quite close to being spot-on, Melee does occasionally involve some hidden inputs which would be impossible to count solely from in-game footage. That said, Westballz is still alarmingly fast.

The team produced a similar video for Alliance’s Armada back in August, so be sure to check that out as well.
