This weekend is the first of four Regional Finals of the 2018 Capcom Pro Tour. This year’s Europe Regional Final will be held as part of the EGX 2018 expo in Birmingham, England, with an automatic spot to the Capcom Cup finals on the line.
The Regional Final is essentially split into two parts. On Friday and Saturday is the Regional Final Open Tournament, open to all players. The top 48 players will earn Global Ranking Points as well as Regional Ranking Points based on placement. Sunday is the Regional Final proper, with the 8 top ranking players based on the final EU standings after the Open Tournament. The winner earns an automatic qualification spot to Capcom Cup in December.
With a Capcom Cup spot up for grabs, players from around and even outside of Europe will be competing. Competitors include Problem-X, Shakz, Imstilldadaddy, Hurricane, Afii, Luffy, Akianu, Mister Crimson, Phenom, SaltyKid, Big Bird, JohnTakeuchi, GamerBee, Jiewa, Alex Myers and more.
