WBA bantamweight champion Jamie McDonnell (27-2-1, 12 KOs) will now defend his title aganist new opponent Mexico’s Fernando Vargas (29-9-3, 20 KOs) on Saturday at the O2 in London.
Original opponent Juan Alberto Rosas has pulled out after suffering a cut during a sparring session and Vargas has agreed to step in.
Vargas, who was outpointed by Rosas in 2013, is coming off a a points win over former WBO super bantamweight champion Wilfredo Vazquez Jr in June.
