Terry Flanagan pulls out of title defence against Felix Verdejo due to leg injury

WBO lightweight champion Terry Flanagan (33-0, 13 KOs) has pulled out of his title defence against mandatory challenger Felix Verdejo (23-0, 15 KOs) on September 16 at the Copper Box Arena in London, after suffering a leg injury in training.
Flanagan’s promoter Frank Warren informed Top Rank on Monday that the fight will need to be pushed back due to the injury.
A new date for Flanagan-Verdejo has not yet been discussed by Warren and Top Rank chairman Bob Arum, who promotes Verdejo.
