The real testament of whether a game will survive in the FGC is its offline scene. In that light, it would certainly seem that Dragon Ball FighterZ is succeeding right now, drawing players to weeklies all around the world. Many of these players have never been to an offline tournament before.
Such is the case for the folks at TGN Anime. These creators of excellent DBFZ tutorials have, nevertheless, been raised exclusively on online play from other fighters. It took Arc System Work’s latest opus to finally draw them out of the woodwork. As they soon discovered, they weren’t alone.
This vlog doubles as something of a mini-documentary; it shows a new generation of players discovering the thrill of the tournament format, and simultaneously gives an insight into Portugal’s FGC.
