Welcome to the Rollback: a frame-by-frame look back at our past week’s most notable news — and our favorite SRK articles — from December 21 to December 27, 2018!
Zavian “mushin_Z” Sildra, Editor-in-Chief:
Frame 1:
Capcom Fighters presents the top 5 moments of Capcom Cup 2018
If you want to see the best in Street Fighter, Capcom Cup does not disappoint. Itazan was near-unstoppable this year!
Frame 2:
Dragon Ball FighterZ tournament cancelled at Anime Ascension due to “unforeseen circumstances”
Something stinks on the intellectual property side for Dragon Ball FighterZ, potentially kneecapping the esports future of one of the best fighting games out there. However…
Frame 3:
Toei Animation states that they have nothing to do with blocking Dragon Ball FighterZ tournaments
With their connection to the franchise and a litigious reputation, Toei was believed to be the culprit in the vanishing DBFZ events. It seems someone else is to blame.
Frame 4:
Rising Up: Season 4 — Important changes for Zangief, Dhalsim, Rashid, Laura, and Necalli
Bafael continues to break down the individual character changes in the Season 4 balance patch for SFV, so you can stay on top of how the game has changed.
Frame 5:
Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition’s sponsored content is no longer available — at least for now
While it may appear that Capcom is backing off due to the bad press of their ill-conceived Sponsored Content, the mechanisms to deliver the content are still in the game, so don’t get your hopes up yet. More likely that new ads are on the way now that the CPT season is over.

Frame 1:
Katsuhiro Harada is now taking charge of Bandai Namco’s esports strategy team
I would like to pretend that this means SoulCalibur VI will get a TWT-esque tour, but I know better.
Considering everything else the roller does, I genuinely don’t understand the need to make these weird physics interactions.
Frame 3:
Omen of Sorrow announces free DLC character Erzébet Bathory for January 2019, future DLC plans
Omen of Sorrow is doing DLC right.
Ultimate has a bright future if it can continue to develop interesting new tricks like this.
Frame 5:
