Welcome to the Rollback: a frame-by-frame look back at our past week’s most notable news — and our favorite SRK articles — from September 21 to September 27, 2018!

Frame 1:
Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition will finally hit arcades in Japan in 2019
This may seem like an afterthought this late into Street Fighter V‘s run, but it’s big news for the Japanese scene — not to mention finally legitimizing the “Arcade Edition” moniker…
This is a great (and fun) look back on a huge piece of FGC history, where East met West for essentially the first time in the burgeoning FGC.
G is one of my favorite additions to the Street Fighter universe; in this video VesperArcade discusses just how good the President’s tools are in SFV.
Frame 4:
Shoryuken review: SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy subverts conventions with full-on fan service
This game blends traditional fighting sensibilities with platform fighter concepts, and then candy-coats it in cartoony T&A… Lazybones2020 delves into the unusual gameplay and chock-a-block fan service of SNK’s strange (and for many, creepy) new title.
I guess it was inevitable we’d be talking about Fortnite on SRK sooner or later. Hopefully the mega-hit paves the way for wider cross-play for fighting games, too.

Frame 1:
Mech Zangief returning to Street Fighter V as the next costume available in Extra Battle mode
As someone that loves wrestling and robots, this obviously ticks a lot of boxes for me. Almost convinced me to jump back into SFV. Almost.
Frame 2:
This “Equilibrium Calculator for Fighting Games” plots out theoretical, optimal play
I lost two hours of my life playing around with this thing, so I think that tells you how useful of a tool I think this is.
Frame 3:
Savage Reign and The King of Fighters 2001 coming to ACA NEO GEO
I won’t try and convince you that Savage Reign is an amazing game, but I have an incredibly soft spot in my heart for its hilariously dated character design.
Frame 4:
New ARIKA clip teases Fighting EX Layer for Steam
Glad to see FEXL is still going strong, that’s all. My computer won’t be able to run this, sadly.
This will be the soundtrack to this weekend.
