Frame 1:
My Hands-On Experience with Tekken 7 at Wizard World Austin
I’ve been looking forward to Tekken 7’s impending console drop for a long time; Crow_Spaceboy’s report on the game from Wizard World helps continue to stoke the hype-fire.
Frame 2:
Kneel When in His Presence! desk Explores Street Fighter V’s Urien
Urien seems well suited to desk, with the juggling and reflecting shenanigans his V-trigger can set up. I always get a kick out of desk’s videos, and what he’s been up to with Urien is as fun as ever.
Frame 3:
The Spirit of the Turbulent Wind Captured in This Acoustic Cover of Rashid’s Street Fighter V Theme
I’m a sucker for great video game tunes–Rashid’s theme is possibly the catchiest addition to Street Fighter V’s soundtrack, and this cover does it right by mixing it up, while retaining the spirit of the music and the character. Bravo!
Sam “Trilby” Foxall, Assistant Editor:
Alien’s reign of terror will soon be over, if Ed Boon’s Twitter hints are anything to go by. With PC players finally getting Kombat Pack 2 next week, let’s hope this balance patch acts as a proper welcome for them.
Frame 2:
Samurai Shodown, Fatal Fury, & King of Fighters ’94 Coming to PS4 Arcade Archives
With SNK returning to prominence with the release of KOF XIV, much of their back catalog is returning to current gen systems. Hopefully their worldwide release won’t be too far after the initial Japanese launch.
Frame 3:
Fight for the Crown as the Rivals of Aether Championship Series Begins on October 1st
While Smashers eagerly wait for an official Smash circuit, Rivals of Aether have stepped up to the platform with their own championship series. The first event is this Saturday so get signed up now if you wish to compete!
Keegan “Interrobang!?” Spindler, Features Editor:
A bit of nationalism here–as a Brit, I can’t help but feel proud of how great an event EGX 2016 turned out to be. I’ve also been beaten by Ryan Hart a few times, so I can feel for the poor guys and girls that he left in his wake on his way to a second place finish.
Frame 2:
Last Stock Legends Recount the History of the Wombo Combo in Their Latest Documentary Episode
Most of the Smash community have seen that Wombo Combo video. Hell, most of them could probably recite it word for word. It’s one of the most well-loved Smash moments in history, and it’s fascinating to see what went down behind the scenes. Last Stock Legends deliver top notch quality and some great insight into the moment, producing a mini-doc that is well worth a watch.
Frame 3:
Pre-Orders for the Panzer Fight Stick 3 Now Open
I hate to be predictable, but how could I look past the Panzer 3? Jasen’s Customs have a well-deserved reputation for quality, and the Panzer series are sticks worthy of their namesake. It’s exciting to see that his next additions to the line are almost ready, and I’m well prepared to stare enviously when the photos start rolling in.
