This past weekend saw the latest installment of one of Japan’s biggest arcade-based tournaments as Toushinsai 2019 took place in Tokyo, Japan. The event hosted a massive amount of the top arcade titles, most notably being an ARCREVO World Tour Qualifying event for the BlazBlue: Central Fiction 2v2 and Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 3v3 team tournaments. There was also the competitive debut of the newly-released Street Fighter V: Type Arcade, Ultra Street Fighter IV, Fighting EX Layer, SNK Heroines Tag Team Frenzy Arcade, a 3v3 Tekken 7: Fated Retribution Round 2 tournament, a 2v2 event for The King of Fighters XIV, a 5v5 battle in Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown, and much more, with the majority of events played in the traditional high-stakes single-elimination format.
