Unannounced Ultra Street Fighter IV Change Shortens M. Bison’s Ultra 1 and Super Charge Times

You want unannounced Ultra Street Fighter IV changes? We’ve got unannounced Ultra Street Fighter IV changes…well change. Singular.

Doopliss recently sent us a video that demonstrates something interesting that happened to M. Bison’s Ultra 1, otherwise known as Nightmare Booster. See, in the transition to Ultra, the dictator’s Ultra 2 had its charge time reduced from 55 frames to 40 frames, naturally expanding the scenarios in which it can be used.

Somewhere along the way, however, it seems as if this change adjustment was also applied to Nightmare Booster. While this doesn’t open up a whole lot of new combo avenues, it can definitely be considered a buff alongside the already improved start-up.

Doopliss shows off a couple of nifty options in the video below.

It isn’t covered in the video, but apparently Bison’s super has seen a similar reduction.

Upon seeing the video, we reached out to Capcom community manager Peter “Combofiend” Rosas for a comment on this matter. Interestingly enough, he says this change was entirely intentional, a statement backed up by its inclusion in the official BradyGames guide and frame data app.

Rosas also relayed that he hopes this gets more people to experiment with Bison, so jump in the lab and see what you can do now that this is more widely known.
