One of the most inspiring stories to come out of the fighting game community is that of Mike “BrolyLegs” Begum. In a genre as dexterity-demanding as fighting games, one would not expect that BrolyLegs–who has suffered from arthrogryposis since birth, can perform as well as he does. Yet through sheer determination, BrolyLegs had become one of the best Chun-Li players, and one of the most recognized names within the community.
Recently, Gamer Informer’s Javy Gwaltney got a chance to talk to BrolyLegs; in the interview, they talk about various topics, including how he learned to play video games as a child and adapt to his disability. As part of this they also discuss his book My Life Beyond the Floor, which goes over his early life and how he overcame his disability both in games and in real life. Along the way, they also talk about how far the industry has come to accommodating people with disabilities.
Of course, there are a few other topics that they discuss as well! Read the whole interview over at Game Informer.
