There’s been panic in certain corners of the Dragon Ball FighterZ Twittosphere, with some speculating that January’s open beta will feature the same character roster that was in August’s closed beta test. Well worry not, as DBFZ producer Tomoko Hiroki took to Twitter to assuage any fears.
In the Tweet below (translated by HiagoXYZ), Hiroki-san states that the team are “doing everything [they] can” to include characters that were not available in previous test builds. When you consider that since the closed beta, 12 new characters have been announced, it would be a shame for this open beta to not include any of those newer fighters.
As for the playable characters in the open beta test, we're doing everything we can to include characters that weren't available in test builds before, so please look forward to it! (Hiroki) #DBFZ https://t.co/5cbj1Zmd9N

At the very least, I hope fighters like Yamcha, Tien, Nappa and Ginyu are in the open beta — seeing as they were the first four characters to be announced following the closed beta. I’d love it for Hit or Adult Gohan to be playable, but that may be a bit of stretch for a team that is no doubt focused on polishing Dragon Ball FighterZ ahead of its launch.
Expect more official news from Bandai Namco about the open beta in the new year.
