EVE Online – Players Take to the Heavens in Tribute to Stephen Hawking

After the passing yesterday of renowned and much-beloved Professor Stephen Hawking, EVE Online players took to the heavens to light beacons in his honor. Pilots lit capital ship cynosural beacons out in null space in honor of Hawking at 3:00 pm Pacific yesterday. “Take out a noob frigate or sth. and spend a little ozone for one of the brightest minds humanity has ever had.” the post said to encourage participation. Those words worked.
