With its recent announcement, many people are speculating on who will be included in Samurai Shodown‘s cast. Now, a known source has not only leaked possible characters for Samurai Shodown, but future DLC characters for SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy as well.
DasVergeben (who hinted at the existence of the new Samurai Shodown months ago) has given out the identities of two characters being added to SNK’s Samurai Shodown revival: Rimururu and Shiki. Of these two, it’s the latter whose inclusion is interesting, seeing as she’s never actually been in a 2D Samurai Shodown game, despite being popular enough to be included in crossovers such as SvC Chaos: SNK vs. Capcom and NEO GEO Battle Coliseum.
In addition to this, he mentions while he hasn’t been told about the full roster, he can confirm that it will include characters not shown in the painting in the announce trailer.
As for SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy, he mentions that the remaining DLC characters for the game will be a female Skullomania, Miss X (Iori’s cross dressing alter-ego from SNK Gals Fighters), and Janne d’Arc from World Heroes.
Finally, he states that SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy is a “side project” for SNK. The two main games they’re working on are Samurai Shodown and the as of yet un-announced The King of Fighters XV, which is still very early in development.
Of course, regardless of DasVergeben’s track record, we do encourage our readers to take all leaks with a grain of salt.
