Tekken series producer, Katsuhiro Harada, revealed as DLC character for Tekken 7 in hilarious April Fool’s Joke

The REAL King of Iron Fist has finally come to claim his crown!

Though Season 2 of Tekken 7 came to an end at the close of February with the release of Julia Chang and The Walking Dead’s Negan, it seems another character could be heading to the game in the future, as the true King of Iron Fist has finally decided to step into the 3D arena.

Earlier today, Chief Series Producer Katsuhiro Harada tweeted the following, announcing that he’ll be the next entrant into the King Of Iron Fist Tournament 7, even revealing screenshots of him in a very fine suit facing off with Kazuya Mishima atop the G Corporation’s Helipad. His message reads as follows:

This model looks very similar to the one that was threatened by Negan during his reveal trailer to release him alongside Julia in the game’s latest update. Though this is clearly a fun April Fool’s Day joke, we have seen an in-game avatar of Harada in a Bandai Namco Entertainment 3D title before, as he could be faced, clad in Heihachi Mishima’s trademark gi, in the Quick Battle Mode of 2012’s SoulCalibur V, rewarding players that defeated him with the Soul of Devil Jin moveset that was exclusive to Create-A-Soul custom characters, allowing them to harness the Devil Gene and the powers of Devil Jin on the Stage of History.

Interestingly, response to this joke has been extremely positive from the Tekken community, with fellow Tekken producer, Bamco Game Designer, and Harada’s personal translator, Michael Murray, Tweeting out his shocked surprise over the response, while also noting that he shows up during Harada’s Rage Drive to, “try to show him the mute/block button as he steamrolls over trolls, LOL!” Mr. Wizard has also preemptively banned Harada from Evo, citing that he’d be, “way too broken!” Let us know in the comments section if you’d be willing to buy Harada-san as a playable character in Tekken 7 and Happy April Fool’s Day from all of us at Shoryuken!
