Release dates have also been konfirmed!
Though we already knew that Sindel and Todd McFarlane’s Spawn would be joining the already-released Shang Tsung and Nightwolf as DLC characters in Mortal Kombat 11‘s Kombat Pack, Netherrealm Studios has finally revealed who the two remaining guest characters will be.
We also get release dates (likely for Early Access) of the remaining quartet of Kombatants. The Terminator T-800 will be invading Eartherealm on behalf of SkyNet, while DC Comic’s The Joker will try once again to put a smile on the face of the MK warriors for the first time since 2008’s ill-fated Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe crossover title, as he brings things full-circle following the guest appearances of Scorpion in 2013’s Injustice: Gods Among Us and Sub-Zero and Raiden in 2017’s Injustice 2.
After the six fighters enter a dark room in a similar vein to Injustice 2‘s Fighter Pack reveals, we are informed that the Terminator T-800 will look to terminate the competition in just seven week’s time on October 8th, while Sindel, in her revenant form, will be whipping her hair back and forth on November 26th. The Joker laughs us into 2020 on January 28th, while Spawn closes things out on March 17th.
During each of their entrances, we can see that Spawn will be sporting his iconic cape and chains combo, potentially signaling that he’ll have quite the reach advantage in neutral, Joker, unlike his Injustice incarnations, will be bringing his cane into battle, hopefully giving him increased range in the vein of Skarlet or Jade. Finally, the Terminator, who appears to be based on the Arnold Schwarzenegger incarnation from the earlier films, who will also be in the upcoming Terminator: Dark Fate on November 1st. (Hopefully he’s providing the voice for the character as well!)
You can see the full trailer below, as well as the trailer for Nightwolf, who is officially out of Early Access and available to purchase for all players at $5.99, along with a Klassic Arcade Skin Pack, decking out Kano, Jax, and Kung Lao in their Mortal Kombat 3 duds, which can also be purchased individually for $5.99. The Sonya Blade War Games MK3 Skin, much like the Shang Tsung Movie Skin, will remain an exclusive for Kombat Pack owners.
It was also announced that the game will also be coming to the new Google Stadia in November, with Executive Producer Erin Piepergerdes providing insight into why NRS feels the game is a perfect fit for this new platform.
