Xbox Game Pass brings great opportunity for fighting games and their communities
Xbox recently added the weapon-based fighter, Soulcalibur VI to their subscription service, Xbox Game Pass. This latest addition shows Bandai Namco’s consistent support of including their fighters on the platform. The only major title missing from their lineup now is Dragon Ball FighterZ and it seems to be only a matter of time before it also gets added to Game Pass.
For those unfamiliar with the program, Xbox Game Pass is a subscription-based service that grants players access to over 100 titles from all three generations of Xbox downloaded directly to their console or PC. Those interested in other fighters on Game Pass, Killer Instinct: Definitive Edition, Tekken 7, Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, Mortal Kombat X, Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid, Jump Force, and Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker are also available to download and play.
This service is great for boosting awareness of games and increasing their player bases. With over 10 million subscribers, Game Pass has huge potential for bringing in new players on a massive scale. Players who might have never considered picking up one of these titles can join in effortlessly and play with their friends who are already a part of the community or bring new players along with them to join the fun.
You can subscribe to Xbox Game Pass through three different methods. You can subscribe to get access to only console games for $9.99 a month, only PC games for $4.99 a month, or both platforms with Xbox Live Gold included for $14.99 a month. Every first-party title launches on the platform as well, so you will get more than your money’s worth.
On top of getting access to games, subscribers are given discounts on all DLC available for titles on the service and for games that eventually leave the platform. You can sign up for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for only $1 for your first month, so it is definitely worth checking out.
