For the past few days, NetherRealm Studios’ Ed Boon has been teasing a brand new Mortal Kombat X trailer. But, in typical fashion, the details have been pretty scarce–even important information like when it will be officially released.
Luckily, teasing can only go so far. Boon recently mentioned that tomorrow, January 14, is likely to be the day the new video is made public for the series’ ravenous fans. As for what it will contain, well, that’s a whole other matter.
First off, the creative director came right out and said Kung Lao is set to appear in the trailer. As he’s only been shown in magazines, this is the first time we will see the aging fighter in action. Boon also confirmed that a yet to be announced character will also be showcased.
But that’s not all! Further speculation was fueled thanks to two darkened pictures, one that almost certainly features Goro (who, like Kung Lao, has been announced but not shown in gameplay footage) and another that depicts Kano being attacked by an unknown assailant who some believe to be Kitana due to the fan-like object in the lower right-hand corner.
Whatever happens tomorrow, this title’s next trailer seems to be chock full of content for players starved on details. Stay tuned!
