An Italian Amazon product listing has possibly revealed the release date for SoulCalibur VI

Did Amazon Italy just reveal when we’ll be welcomed back to the Stage of History?

Things have been relatively quiet on the SoulCalibur VI front since the reveal of Siegfried earlier this month. However, an Italian Amazon product listing has provided with a very interesting piece of information, as we may now know the release window for the next chapter in Bandai Namco Entertainment’s legendary 3D weapons-based fighter.

The listing includes already-confirmed details: such as the title having a Story Mode, similar to Tekken 7, that it uses Unreal Engine 4, that there will be the 8-way directional movement customary to a 3D fighting game and that there will, of course, be online multiplayer.

Most notable though is the “Data di uscita: 27 settembre 2018,” which translates to the game having a release date in the region of September 27, 2018 — the last Thursday of the month. While this could certainly be a placeholder date, those tend to be listed as December 31st of a game’s planned launch year. Games have a tendency to release on Tuesdays or Fridays in North America, so this should really be taken as more of a potential window for release. As always, take this with a massive grain of salt.

Though Bandai Namco Entertainment previously debunked rumors of a June release date stemming from an erroneous listing on the Microsoft Store, they have yet to comment on this latest development, as of this writing. With E3 2018 scheduled to take place between June 12-14, it will be interesting to see what they could have in store for us, and if the official release date will fall within a similar timeframe.

What are your thoughts on this development? Do you feel the release date is too late in the year, or are you happy that they’re likely taking the time to polish the final product as much as possible? Sound off in the comments.
