“My magic is never giving up!”
With the game’s February 14th release date quickly approaching, the character count for Bandai Namco’s 3v3 arena fighter JUMP FORCE is continuing to ramp up as another hero, and franchise, has just been announced to be joining the battle for Earth.
Weekly Shonen Jump has announced that Black Clover protagonist Asta will be joining the fray, wielding his trademark Demon-Dweller Sword and Demon Slayer Sword, making the magicless member of the Black Bulls and weirder of the Five-Leaf Clover grimoire a hybrid fighter with a dual-wielding style who can excel at both close and long-range combat.
Additionally, he will be able to transform into his Black Asta form when preforming his Ultimate Attack, the Black Meteorite. As he is considered one of the modern faces of current Jump, his inclusion should be most welcomed. With that, Asta now brings the playable cast of JUMP FORCE up to 33, as he joins Dragon Ball’s Goku, Vegeta, Frieza, Cell, Piccolo, and Trunks, Naruto’s Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha, One Piece’s Monkey D. Luffy, Roronoa Zoro, Vinsmoke Sanji, Sabo, Marshall “Blackbeard” D. Teach, Sabo, and Boa Hancock, Bleach’s Ichigo Kurosaki, Rukia Kuchiki, Sosuke Aizen, and Renji Abarai, Hunter x Hunter’s Gon Freeces, Hisoka Morrow, Killua Zoldyck, and Kurapika, Yu Yu Hakusho’s Yusuke Urameshi and Younger Toguro, Rurouni Kenshin’s Kenshin Himura and Makoto Shishio, Saint Seiya’s Pegasus Seiya and Dragon Shiryu, Fist of the North Star/Hokuto no Ken’s Kenshiro, Yu-Gi-Oh!’s Yami Yugi, City Hunter’s Ryo Saeba, and original character Kane, designed by Akira Toriyama. Death Note’s Light Yagami and Ryuk will also be in the game as story NPCs, in addition to a character creation mode.

JUMP FORCE is scheduled to be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam PC on Thursday, February 14th in Japan, and on Friday, February 15th in North America.
