Both Qudans and Book may be taking breaks from competitive Tekken 7 next year

This year’s Tekken World Tour Finals was one of the most hype yet (especially with Rangchu’s underdog win in the finals). However, it seems that next year’s Tour may possibly be missing a few familiar faces.

Two of the top Tekken 7 players in the world, Byung-moon “Qudans” Son from team UYU and Nopparut “Book” Hempamorn may both be taking time off from competitive Tekken, or at least the Tekken World Tour in 2019.

Both players made their announcements via Twitter. Qudans stated that he didn’t know whether or not he would play next year (while also thanking his fans). Meanwhile Book simply stated that he was taking a break for a while.

These aren’t the only players who have stated their plans to take a break from competition. Prior to this, Korean player Mu-jong ‘kkokkoma’ Kim also stated doubts on whether or not he could continue to compete next year.
Neither player has stated the reason for their planned breaks from the game. However, fans on the r/tekken subreddit have speculated that it could be due to the way the payouts for the Tekken World Tour have decreased (this years winner at the TWT Finals only received half of what last years winner got). Whatever the plans of both these players are for next year, we here in Shoryuken wish them the best of luck, and hope they get to keep playing the game they love.
