Capcom Discusses a Shift in Priorities for Future Game Releases

Following up on the company’s recent financial report, which admitted that Street Fighter V released in an incomplete state, Capcom has released a new Q&A briefing.

When it comes to revising their customer approach, the company aims to shift focus away from meeting absolute sales and shipping deadlines. “…In the pursuit of quality that wholly satisfies our users we will carry out development that prioritizes completeness even if it requires some scheduling adjustments,” the document states.

This works well with their answer on internal changes pointing to hiring a larger developer team, which in turn is a bigger challenge to manage. By “releasing all titles finished to a high level of quality,” Capcom plans to grow their sales as well as tap into their large collection of intellectual property that’s not currently in the spotlight.
