Capcom Looking to Discourage Ragequitters in Street Fighter V, But They Need Your Help

Disconnections are an unfortunate reality of playing video games online, whether due to unstable netcode or (more likely) someone getting salty about a loss. Street Fighter V has been plagued with both problems in the week after its release, and while the developers have worked to correct the former, it’s the latter that persists.

In the latest post-launch update, Capcom’s Neidel “Haunts” Crisan says that they are aware of the ragequitting issue, and are taking steps to correct it. “We are working on a permanent solution to this problem, though we don’t have an exact date to share with you at the moment,” he explains. “That said, we are going to take direct action starting next week to punish those players who are abusing the system.”

The key to this “direct action” lies with the community. Haunts asks that everyone record their matches with habitual ragequitters, either by using the PlayStation 4’s built-in functionality or other means, and stay tuned for more information. No further details were given as to how they plan to combat these poor losers early on, but they can look forward to some severe punishment.

Additionally, improvements continue to be made to matchmaking, and Capcom plans to provide more updates in the future.
