Dead or Alive 6 World Championship set to begin at The Mixup in Lyon, France on April 20th

The Tour will have $90,000 in prize money up for grabs!

It appears the 2019 Season of the Tekken World Tour won’t be the only competitive circuit beginning at The Mixup in Lyon, France this April, as Koei Tecmo Games and Team NINJA have finally revealed the details of their upcoming Dead Or Alive 6 World Championship, following its announcement at Evo Japan last February.

Qualifying events will be held in North America, Europe, and Asia, with the Finals event culminating later this year at the DEAD OR ALIVE Festival 2019 in Tokyo, Japan, where the 16 best Dead Or Alive 6 players across the globe will battle for ultimate supremacy.

As far as competitive rankings go, the tour will consist of three “Offline Fatal Match Events.” These will be the equivalent of the Premiere Events seen on the Capcom Pro Tour, with the winners of each earning immediate qualification and the remaining members of the event’s Top 16 being awarded a sliding scale of points towards their respective Regional Leaderboards.

There are three Regional Leaderboards in total, those being U.S., Asia, and EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa.) This trio of events will also have an $8,000 pot bonus up for grabs. Additionally, there will be eight “Offline DOA6WC Point Match” events, which will be the Tour’s equivalent of the CPT’s Ranking Events, as well as well as four “Online DOA6WC Point Matches.”

Eventually, 3 spots will be given to the tournament winners of the “Offline Fatal Match Event” (CEO 2019, Summer Jam, The Fatal Match in Japan), 11 additional players will be chosen based on their ranking on the DOA6WC Point Leaderboard, with three available spots for Asia, five for the United States, and three for the EMSA. Finally, there will also be two spots available to the Top 2 placers in the Last Chance Qualifier Tournament that will be held the day of the Finals at the DEAD OR ALIVE Festival 2019.

Players who have qualified through winning an Offline Fatal Match may still participate in other events, but any earned points will be considered null and void, so they do not factor into the Leaderboard standings, and should they win, the Rule of Succession will shift the qualification spot down the line until it is awarded to a player who is currently un-qualified.

Finally, if any qualified players choose not to participate in the Finals in Japan, (though Koei Tecmo is offering assistance with travel and lodging), then additional slots will be opened up for the LCQ Tournament. The overall prize pool for the entire Tour will total to $90,000 or the equivalent of 10 Million Yen. The event schedule is as follows:
