Dungeon Fighter Online Global Version Set to Begin Beta Testing in Early 2015

Last summer, the North American servers for Dungeon Fighter Online were taken down after a run of almost exactly three years. This looked to be the end of an era for the popular online game, at least for many English speaking players. Back in May of this year, Neople, the company behind the title, announced that there would soon be a global version of the game hitting the market. This version doesn’t yet have a concrete release date, but the game’s Facebook page suggests thatbeta testing should begin in March of next year.

If you’ve not had a chance to try Dungeon Fighter Online for yourself, it’s a side-scrolling beat ‘em up that combines RPG elements like class selection and leveling up through a skill point system with fighting game elements like combos and super meters for a truly unique hybrid gaming experience. After selecting a class, players fight off droves of enemies with flashy sword swings and special moves that feel truly satisfying to unleash. The game also offers arenas where you can pit your character against those of other players in battles that are undoubtedly different from a traditional fighting title, but do offer some similar aspects.

Below, you’ll find a video that demonstrates the combo potential of the Avenger class when taking advantage of Metamorphosis mode in a PVP environment. The video begins with some basic meter building and then gives a good idea of how combos unfold within the game once the hits start flowing. While the damage numbers rival Marvel games in size, do note that players have incredible amounts of health, so the numbers only look intimidating.

Also note that the 3rd Strike sounds, as well as Yun spamming palms, have been added for comedic effect.
