Echo Fox|Tokido talks winning Evo 2017, and how talking to Rick Fox made him a better player

Evo 2017 Street Fighter V champion Hajime “Tokido” Taniguchi from team Echo Fox seems to have a lot to be thankful for, in regards to his win. During his post-championship interview, Tokido thanks a lot of folk, including longtime training partner Kenryo “Mago” Hayashi.

However, it seems that there’s one other person that Tokido is thankful to. In this interview with Esports Heaven’s Adam Baugh, Tokido talks about how talking to Echo Fox team owner Rick Fox helped make him a better player. A retired professional basketball player from the NBA, Rick Fox has a reputation for being one of the more hands-on team owners in the industry.

They also talk about Tokido’s performance in top 8, including who was his most difficult match-up, as well as his gameplan going into battle with Panda Global’s Victor “Punk” Woodley in grand finals.

Additionally, they quickly go over his plans to play other games, with Tokido mentioning both Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, and Dragon Ball FighterZ.
