Guilty Gear XX: Accent Core Plus R begins public testing for GGPO rollback netcode update October 29 on Steam

Rollback netcode comes to a fan-favorite entry in the iconic fighting game franchise

Arc System Works announced today that the Steam version of Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R will soon enter the public testing phase of its major GGPO update on October 29. No further details were shared from Arc System Works directly regarding the update, but conversations on the +R Discord group have led to information about lobbies from the Nintendo Switch release being ported to the Steam version along with Reload + Slash stages being accessible online. As we wait for official confirmation from Arc System Works, these are definitely features to look forward to in the upcoming update.

Unfortunately, there was no word about an update coming to the Switch port of the game, but time will tell if it too eventually gets GGPO. Guilty Gear -Strive-, the next entry in the GG franchise, is set to launch April 9, 2021 with rollback netcode implemented to its online experience. Will the implementation of GGPO bring you back to the classic title? What other games do you hope receive rollback netcode in the near future?
