Mileena, Rain, and Rambo arrive in Mortal Kombat 11 through Kombat Pack 2, releasing November 17 alongside Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate and free next-gen upgrades with Krossplay Support

Sylvester Stallone himself returns to voice the iconic Rambo!

Warner Bros. Games and NetherRealm Studios announced quite a bit of news regarding the future of support for Mortal Kombat 11, starting with the reveal of Kombat Pack 2 which features the highly requested character Mileena, Rain, and the surprise guest fighter, Rambo, from the popular film franchise based on the novel First Blood. The characters will release coinciding an all-encompassing version of the game titled, Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate, which comes packaged with all of the DLC released so far, including the Aftermath expansion released earlier this year. Next-gen upgrades are available for free for current and future owners of Mortal Kombat 11 and Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One through an upgrade to PlayStation 5 and Smart Delivery on Xbox Series X|S. These new and improved versions feature “4K dynamic resolution, enhanced visuals, improved loading times”.

Another major announcement was the extension of Krossplay Support. Players will be able to compete against one another on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S consoles in a limited set of modes. The exact modes available for Krossplay in this next-gen update have yet to be detailed, but it will likely be similar to the options currently available between PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players. The promise of these combined communities will give Mortal Kombat 11 an even longer potential lifespan before the next title eventually releases. It is a little strange, however, that Nintendo Switch, PC, and Stadia are left out of the Krossplay Support umbrella, especially considering it is possible for smaller titles like Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid to offer crossplay across the board, but it is definitely a step in the right direction and sets a great precedent for the next generation of AAA fighting games.

Kombat Pack 2 and Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate are available to pre-purchase starting October 15, priced at $14.99 and $59.99 respectively. Those who pre-purchase Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate will have access to Mortal Kombat 11, Kombat Pack 1, and the Aftermath expansion instantly, giving them the everything available thus far to play before the next batch of content rolls out. Individuals who pre-order either product will be given the Time Warriors skin pack at the launch of MK11 Ultimate on November 17. This gives access to new skins for Noob Saibot, Liu Kang, and Skarlet. The next-gen upgrades will be available on November 17 as well.

How do you all feel about the upcoming Mortal Kombat 11 content? Which character are you looking forward to playing the most? Who hasn’t made the cut that you hope gets added in a potential Kombat Pack 3?
