New PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Game Announced that May Not be a Battle Royale

PUBG Corp has announced the formation of a new studio called Striking Distance headed by former Call of Duty and Dead Space developer Glen Schofield. Striking Distance is working on an unnamed PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds game. Schofield, while providing few details, did state that he has “the freedom to explore the PUBG universe” and that he’s excited about possibilities that that brings which he “views as beyond the battle royale genre”.
