Phantom Breaker: Omnia set to release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC in 2021

Nearly “lost to the annals of history”, the anime fighter finds new life.

Publisher Rocket Panda Games along with developers Mages. and GameLoop announced today that Phantom Breaker: Omnia is set to come to current hardware next year. Phantom Breaker: Omnia is an enhanced version of Phantom Breaker: Extra, a fighting game that never made its way to the west and was previously released by developer MAGES in 2013. Rocket Panda Games promises that Phantom Breaker: Omnia will be more than just a port, with “retuned and rebalanced” gameplay with three different fighting styles, remixed music, dual language audio, two new characters made just for the Omnia iteration, and more.

We are thrilled to bring to the world the definitive version of the Phantom Breaker fighting game, Phantom Breaker: Omnia, a game that was nearly lost to the annals of gaming history, said M. Panda, Executive Panda and Co-Founder of Rocket Panda Games. As fans of the franchise and video games at large, our mission was not only to port the game to modern consoles but enhance the experience beyond its original scopea philosophy we plan to extend to every title that Rocket Panda Games releases in the future.

Phantom Breaker is a new franchise to me but I am glad that it is finally making its way to North America. It feels like a lot of care has gone into this release. It would have been easy enough to port the game as it was, but Rocket Panda Games, Mages. and GameLoop have gone the extra mile. The teams have put in the work to ensure this the definitive edition of the game, adding new characters, overhauling the gameplay, hiring English voice actors, and remixing the soundtrack with options to go back to the classic tunes if you so choose. The entirety of the Phantom Breaker story is included as well so players will get to experience the complete narrative between both the original Phantom Breaker and Phantom Breaker: Extra.

IGN released a full gameplay match video that you can check out for yourself below! While we only get a look at a single match, it does a good job of displaying the look and feel of the game. There are bound to be more showcases in the future as well, so be sure to be on the lookout for further previews that detail the gameplay systems and characters.
