Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition’s Version 4.021 patch notes are now available

Removes Blanka screen-freezing glitch, and corrects several unintended interactions!

Following this week’s server maintenance, Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition was updated to Version 4.021, which brought with it the removal of native DirectInput controller support for the PC version, and introduced new Premium Mega Man Crossover Costumes for Ryu and Sakura, “The Gief” costume for the Red Cyclone in Menat’s Fighting Chance, new Dojo items, and the CPT 2019 costumes and stage. It also included as well as a number of bug fixes — the largest of which is the removal of the infamous Blanka time-stopping glitch that made the rounds on social media. There were also some notable adjustments to Cammy, R. Mika, Ryu, Laura, Akuma, Kolin, and Falke to repair unintended scenarios, such as longer back recovery distances, extra invisibility on attacks, move pushback, etc. You can view the notes in full below.

■Battle-Related Bug Fixes

— System
・When a character with little or no life remaining performs a move with armor, and the opponent character performs a V-Reversal that hits, it would KO the character. This phenomenon has been fixed.
— Ryu
・ While V-Trigger I Denjin Renki is active, Ryu’s S.MP had a bigger collision box than it did normally. This bug has been fixed to give it the regular S.MP collision box.
— Cammy
・ In the Ver 4.000 adjustments, the distance Cammy travels for her backwards recovery became longer than normal, so this has been unified to other recovery distances.

・ During V-Trigger II, if Cammy tried to cancel into the special move version of Delta Step from S.FP, the following 2 bugs occurred.

1. At a certain timing, Delta Ambush would come out even if the command for Delta Step was input
2. The cancel timing window for Delta Step was 1F longer than that of Delta Ambush.

These bugs have been fixed, so S.FP can be canceled into normally.
— Mika
・ If EX Shooting Peach was blocked, and the opponent performed a counter-attack at the fastest timing, Mika was at a distance farther than she’d been since Ver. 3.110. As this meant that certain counter-attack combos that used to work in the past would no longer connect, we fixed Mika’s separation distance after a blocked EX Shooting Peach to be the same as before.

・ Fixed a bug where, if Mika performed her V-Trigger I Nadeshiko (Above/Front/Behind, non-delayed version) and immediately after the opponent hit her with a V-Reversal, Nadeshiko’s behavior would be different from the norm.
— Laura
・ If EX Bolt Charge was blocked, and the opponent performed a counter-attack at the fastest timing, Laura was at a distance farther than she’d been since Ver. 3.110. As this meant that certain counter-attack combos that used to work in the past would no longer connect, we fixed Laura’s separation distance after a blocked EX Bolt Charge to be the same as before.
— Akuma
・ Fixed a bug where, if Akuma performed Goshoryuken while his V-Trigger I Dohatsu Shoten was active, and it missed or was blocked, during the recovery on the ground only, the adjustment where moves that are completely invincible from 1F would be subject to 1.2x the damage on hit had not been applied.

– Kolin
・ She could not perform her CA Frost Tower canceled from S.LP or C.LP (excluding when she was in V-Trigger II Absolute Zero). Fixed so that she can cancel into Frost Tower from S.LP or C.LP in all of her states.

— Blanka
? Fixed the phenomenon where, if Surprise Forward or Surprise Back were input immediately after performing the command for his CA Dynamic Rolling, Blanka would still be able to move freely during the screen freeze.
— Falke
・ Fixed a bug where, during Psycho Kanonen, she would have throw invincibility from 8F until the end of the move duration.

We hope you continue to enjoy playing Street Fighter V.
