Super Baby 2 and Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta are the final characters of Season 3 in Dragon Ball FighterZ; Baby releases next on January 15

Who would have thunk we would have gotten not just one, but two more GT reps!?

Bandai Namco released a gameplay trailer for Super Baby 2, the last remaining Tuffle and major antagonist of Dragon Ball GT, in Dragon Ball FighterZ. The latest character was officially announced at the commencement of the Dragon Ball FighterZ National Championship 2020 Japan PLAYOFFS after the victory of Ryota “Kazunoko” Inoue. The character’s release date was also announced to be January 15, 2021, with season pass owners getting access to the characters two days early on January 13.

For those who aren’t familiar, Baby is a genetically modified mutant that can take over the minds and bodies of any other living being. In Dragon Ball GT, Baby controls much of the earth, with Gohan, Goten, and finally Vegeta under his control. Baby is able to fully utilize the strengths and powers of Vegeta alongside his own unique techniques.

Super Baby 2 features a variety of ki based attacks and special moves like Galick Gun, Final Flash, and Revenge Death Ball. Perhaps one of the most unique aspects of Baby is that it appears that once he KOs an opponent’s team member, he can summon them as additional assists on his own team. It looks like there is a brief pause whenever this is done, so it might not immediately lead into combos, but it definitely makes for an interesting trait that can certainly psych out your opponent. We also got a look at Baby’s Level 3 super which leads him to transform into his iconic Golden Great Ape form for a flurry of devastating attacks.

Baby wasn’t the only character announced at the end of the playoffs, GT fans continued to feel the love with the addition of Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta. While only his intro was shown, players can theorize his move set based upon the fact that a few of his moves were already given to Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan (or SSGSS, or Super Saiyan Blue, please normalize Super Saiyan Blue it takes way too long to say SSGSS) Gogeta like his Big Bang Kamehameha and trick Kamehameha, although that iteration didn’t have the same pizzaz like the SSJ4 version. SSJ4 Gogeta will most likely feature moves based on the SSJ4 iterations of Goku and Vegeta that didn’t make it into the game like Kamehameha X10 and Final Shine along with his own signature Big Bang Kamehameha X100. Gogeta currently doesn’t have a release date, but whenever he does arrive, that will be it for Season 3.

Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta Reveal Dragon Ball FighterZ

Will there be a Season 4 of Dragon Ball FighterZ? Its popularity definitely warrants more content having sold 6 million copies to date, but perhaps new additions would be best saved for a sequel or some larger revision of the main game. Only time will tell! Until then, stay tuned for the latest in Dragon Ball FighterZ news right here at SRK!
