While it certainly won’t affect tournament play, Nintendo’s most recent Super Smash Bros. for Wii U patch more than doubles the pool of playable stages in 8-Player Smash mode. This news comes as quite the boon to the casual Smasher who has plenty of extra controllers lying around and enough friends to fill each one, and should also add a good deal more variety to the frantic action that the mode already offers.
The new stages can be broken up into two quick lists, which you’ll find below.
Standard Mode
- Mario Circuit
- Luigi’s Mansion
- Pyrosphere
- Norfair
- Lylat Cruise
- Pokemon Stadium 2
- Animal Crossing – Town and City
- Animal Crossing – Smashville
- Wii Fit Studio
Omega Mode
- Mario Galaxy
- Mario Circuit
- Kirby: The Great Cave Offensive
- Lylat Cruise
- Pokemon Stadium 2
- Animal Crossing – Town and City
The patch weighs in at a modest 316 MB and can be downloaded to your Wii U console right now!
