Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s DLC character roster has already been finalized

It looks like fans won’t be able to ask Sakurai for anything for Ultimate, ever again!

While we already know the identity of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’‘s first DLC character (Piranha Plant), there’s still a few more to be revealed… As such, many players are hoping (and pleading) for their favorites to be added into the game.

Well, it seems that any requests or pleading from fans may now be in vain — unless their desired character has already been decided upon. Masahiro Sakurai confirmed in a recent tweet that the roster of DLC characters for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has been finalized. Specifically, Sakurai confirmed that selection of the DLC characters came entirely from Nintendo. He simply decided if a character in the selection was someone they could realize in-game.

Of course, this news may not sit well with rabid fans who want their favorite characters in. To them, Sakurai responded by stating “It’s great to dream about your favorite character joining the battle and I appreciate your passion, but please try to stay on topic when replying to tweets and refrain from flooding us, and other users, with requests when we’re not specifically asking for feedback. Thank you!”

Super Smash Bro. Ultimate launches on Switch on December 7.
