Tekken Survey Possibly Hints at PC Release, Upcoming Characters

As developers are often wont to do, Bandai Namco Entertainment recently opened a survey to collect feedback from consumers. Unlike most polls of its kind, however, this survey was a rather extensive affair, asking for impressions of other fighting games, what players want to see in Tekken 7 when it lands on home platforms, and more.

While there’s a lot to take in here, some of the more noteworthy points center on the feasibility of a PC release and possible characters that might find their way into future installments. Our attempts to participate in the survey were unsuccessful, but we were provided with a number of details and screenshots by Nael, without whom this article wouldn’t be possible. Thanks!

First off, Tekken 7 on PC. In addition to a constant curiosity about when we’ll actually see the title leave arcades, folks have been particiulary adamant about a possible PC release. As no Tekken title has released for the platform in its lengthy history, this would be a huge step in reaching an untapped market, and the survey, at the very least, shows they are considering such a port.

Furthermore, the survey may also offer a preview of upcoming character additions, whether that be in Tekken 7 Fated Retribution or another game altogether. As shown in the screenshot below, Bandai Namco asks participants to list their most and least favorite Tekken characters. While many already appear in Tekken 7, some–like Panda, Raven, Anna Williams, Eddy Gordo, and more–do not, piquing curiosity about their futures.

Of course, surveys of this nature are often exploratory in nature, and may not provide tangible results. While we think these details are worthy of discussion, we also suggest everyone take them with a grain of salt. Feel free to let us know what you think in the comments.
