UYU has been gradually increasing their FGC support by signing new players and streamers; now, they’re offering another opportunity to showcase top talent.
UYU has announced the launch of their esports scholarship program, named UYU G.O., which aims to bring the esports experience to a wider audience. The program identifies non-sponsored players to attend one major and showcase their skills at the event. The first person selected for this program is Shina “Palushina” Williams, who will be attending DreamHack Atlanta on November 16-18.
Additionally, UYU will have a content creation program who will record and livestream throughout the events.
Says UYU CEO Jinhee Ahn Kim of the program, “UYU has always had the goal of highlighting talent from across all regions of the fighting game community, which is reflected in our pro roster. UYU G.O. is an initiative to provide non-sponsored players from the United States with the opportunity to travel to one major tournament to compete with the world’s best, including members of the UYU pro tournament roster. We are excited to extend the opportunity for growth to deserving players from local scenes across the country.”
