BornFree interviews Tekken pro UYU|Jeondding, talks about multi-game training, Tekken’s guests characters, and more!

“All the things I’m trying to apply in Street Fighter (…) are making my Tekken game improve.”

Korean Tekken Pro UYU|Jeondding’s CEO 2018 win was, by every estimation, a huge upset — he plays unconventional, risky characters (Eddy, Lucky Chloe), he won it from losers bracket, and he won it in two sets versus Qudans, one of the greatest players to ever play Tekken. It was Jeondding’s first TWT major win and a huge milestone for one of Tekken 7’s most unique players.

But as BornFree discovered in this hour-long interview with Jeondding, his method of training is as unconventional as everything else about his approach — namely, that he’s mostly been playing Street Fighter V!

Ironically, Jeondding didn’t intend to learn Street Fighter V — he set out to teach another SFV player how to play Tekken and just started playing sometimes on his stream. On his journey into new territory, he’s already beaten SFV pro, John Takeuchi, and has set a personal goal of making the top 8- in a single event in both Tekken 7 and Street Fighter V.
