Team SoloMid’s Gonzalo “ZeRo” Barrios has been one of the most dominating forces in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. Having won 56 consecutive events, he has set himself up as the undisputed king of the game. That, however, has left a massive target on his back — and combined with his usual main (Diddy Kong), playstyle, and past public persona, it’s also made him potentially the most hated figure in the game.
In an interview with Kotaku, ZeRo discusses the toll on his life his Smash domination has taken, with him recently having to hire a bodyguard upon receiving death threats. He also discusses his past issues with bullying that have continued into his career, as well as his win-or-die mentality from early in his career that has helped perpetuate it.
