Get Hype! Mike Z Demonstrates Beowulf’s Unique Crowd Excitement Mechanic in Skullgirls Encore
As is the case with most every installment, Lab Zero Games had a few treats in store for Skullgirls Encore fans during last week’s Salty! broadcast. While going over the new balance experiments in the Endless Beta, lead developer Mike Zaimont also took the time to demonstrate the interesting hype mechanic employed by upcoming roster addition Beowulf.
By doing specific moves or taunting, Beowulf can build up to three levels of crowd excitement, gaining buffs along the way. For example, having at least one level of hype allows him to link certain throw finishers out of most of his supers.
For those who missed it, Makr0ss has posted a recording of this particular portion of the stream, which we’ve included below. The segment on Beowulf’s excitement mechanic can be found around thirteen minutes in.

Guild Wars 2: What Lies Beyond the Point of No Return
Though speculation has begun with the trademarking of Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns, little else beyond the name is known. That may end, however, on January 24th at PAX South and the main stage presentation to be given by ArenaNet co-founder Mike O’Brien and Game Director Colin Johanson. According to a press release, the pair will reveal what lies beyond the cliff hanger presented at the end of the latest living story update, Point of No Return.
