Omen Bringing the Good Word of Gargos to Killer Instinct Later This Month
Earlier today, Microsoft Studios creative director Adam Isgreen jumped on the Ultra-Combo forums to drop some information on Killer Instinct’s next playable character, Omen.
While this Herald of Gargos previously spent time possessing Jago, Omen has separated himself from the series protagonist to bring the pain directly. Much like Shadow Jago in the opening season, he will serve as the second round’s bonus character, available to everyone who bought into the follow-up.
Isgreen describes Omen’s playstyle as incorporating both unique elements as well as attacks pulled from his time as Shadow Jago. This means moves that were previously only available to the season one boss will now be at players’ disposals, though probably scaled back in order to maintain competitive balance. Omen will also have three Shadow stocks, situational zoning tools, aerial movement options, and more in his toolset upon release.
Those hoping to see Shadow Jago given his own moveset, however, still have quite a wait on their hands. Isgreen mentioned that many of the ideas that were originally going to be given to him have now been shifted to Omen, but they may do more with him in the future after work has completed on season two.
More details on this new character can be found by checking out Isgreen’s full post, which promises fuller demonstrations by way of a live stream and reveal trailer in the coming weeks.
